About this blog:

In November 2010, my husband, three boys and I went to Nepal to volunteer for a month. I worked at the Patan Community-Based Rehabilitation Organisation (Patan CBR), a centre for disabled children. The children range in age from 4 to adult and their disabilities from severe--needing full care--to Downes Syndrome and mild cerebral palsy. The children are very poor, some are orphans, and one thing they always need are clothes. Australia has so much used clothing that the charities struggle to deal with the load; all the second hand clothes in Australia wouldn't meet demand in Nepal, a country of approximately 30 million. Kirsten and I are taking a tiny fraction of those clothes to the children of CBR and will spend two weeks working with the children.
